Pruning Magnolias. Sorry I have tried to look this up on the net but found conflicting answers :-(. Can I prune it to where I've put the line, and if so, when? Can you also sort out a disagreement between hubby and me as to if it is a shrub or tree ? Thank you jen

Sorry moon grower, I only have camera on my phone and it's not always great at taking photes. I did take one when it was in flower a few weeks ago, I will email that one to myself and post that to see if helps better identify it.it takes a little time to come through. Thanks

Hi Jen which Magnolia is this? Photo is so out of focus it is impossible to tell. Remember if this is M grandiflora it want to become a rather large tree whilst M stellata, whilst also a tree, is much more shrub like in its growth.
