Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help. This plant grows to about five foot high and four foot across, has blue/lavender flowers with white centres, purple berries in a casing after flowering and leaves that can grow as big as dinner plates. It looks similar to physalis but flower and berry colour are different. Does anyone know if it is annual or perennial as we would like more of them?

Thanks for your help. It is a great-looking plant, so we will save seeds for next year.

It's pretty dramatic isn't it? I wonder if it's rabbit proof....

Hi Beresforda, nice to meet you. It's a shoo fly plant, Nicandra physaloides, an annual, so you'll need to save some seeds if you want to grow it again next year.
