Please could you tell me what may have caused this to happen to my Mexican Orange blossom plant, the only thing I can think is my local Council sprayed weed killer on the footpath, could this be the cause? Thank you

Answers
It looks pretty high even for a big dog, though. If it happened here, I would suspect a Phytopthora collar rot killing one or more branches.
