Hi my stone pine tree pinus pinea has started to lose its pine and also my one tree has got this white growth on it how can I help save my trees. They are planted in pot a couple of feet deep I really want to save my trees and hope it's not to late can anyone help me?

The trouble is, these trees don't do well in pots for very long - they want to get up to about 15m high, so become stunted and rather sick if kept in pots ongoing. They really need to go into the ground I'm afraid.

The only way to keep them in pots is to use bonsai techniques, and it's a bit late for these, I'm afraid. I'm also not seeing the white growth that you are talking about, Zara. Can you set your camera on Macro, and show us a close-up?
