our 6year old wisteria which previously has not flowered, now has flowers on the last 2foot, however, there is nothing at all up to that point , no buds or leaves Every other year it has had plenty of greenery.

Hi Alimaddi...as GGnome says..at least its flowering at last! But it doesn't sound great if there's no lower growth. Could it be a bit hungry and thirsty? And yes, you need to prune them correctly really to get the best from them.
