Please can somebody help. What part do I need so this hose can be easily attached to an outside brass threaded tap. I was told I can buy one with a suction, but then what part goes into my hose. I've looked on the internet and am baffled. It was purchased from a charity shop.

Go to any well supplied hardware store and get a threaded female garden hose repair connector. Take a stout knife and cut off the old connector from the hose. Then slip the cut end of the hose onto the nipple of the repair connector and tighten it onto the hose with the supplied screw down clamp and Bob's Your Uncle!

All garden centres and diy stores stock the threaded part to screw onto your tap and then your hose attachment will just push onto it. I would suggest buying a brass threade connector but the plastic hose connector.

If you want to keep the "quick connect" effect, you will need to find the matching part to screw onto the faucet. Many brands will have "anti-siphon" apparatus as part of the assembly, but you will need to find a fixture that matches the brand that you have. Actually, that looks like the part that goes on the far end of the hose: where the water comes out. What is on the other end of the hose?
