I'd have said Schizostylis (also known as Kaffir Lily) too, Owd. As you say it seeds prolifically. Not a plant for my garden.

One of the forms of Schizostylis coccinea probably alba(now called Hesperantha, but not many outlets have changed to it).
Self seeds disgustingly freely and the seedlings are usually the normal red.
