Please identify this plant. I bought it at a boot sale last year, planted it, but it didn't survive the winter. However, it had big seed pods so I planted some in a pot and they have started growing. It's growing quite fast and the bottom leaves are about 10 inch by 5 inch and some have tiny purple speckles on, the flowers come out of lantern like pods, which are deep purple and green. The main stem is 1 inch thick, and 6 sided, the plant is about 2 foot high and wide, and looks like its going to get a lot bigger. It's still in it's pot and
I need to identify it so that I can get some info about where it likes to grow and how to look after it.
Thanks

Or possibly tying for first place in the ID requests with Datura.
But not to confuse you, I agree with Owdboggy about this pic.

Oh Thanks. I'm not surprised it's the most asked about as it is quite unusual looking. I remember now that the seller did refer to it as a 'shoo fly'. It's a pity it's an annual.
