Hi ,am I right in saying this plant is from the corncockle,family any help would be appreciated ,thanks for your time gardeners ,

No not corncockle (Agrostemma) but cornflower (Centauria).

This is Centaurea montana, one of the perennial cornflowers, and is not related to Corncockle
