ook acutting from my neighbours mock orange and successfully rooted it but i didn;t get any blossom even after four years and eventually dug the shrub up as it was by then seven to eight feet tall-------any answers

Odd. I have cuttings from a lot of different Philadelphus and all of them have flowered at a few inches tall, even before they have rooted some of them. They do take a while to settle down once planted, but to get to that height without flowering is somewhat unusual.
