I planted a Fatsia plant the beginning of spring and it has done very well until last week. All the leaves are sagging down! They are green but not standing up like they were. We have had a very hot and humid summer and lately have been watering because we've had little rain. What am I doing wrong? Thanks so much in advance just to have someone to ask.

In my experience, Fatsias hate humid heat--they rarely survive the summer here. In your area, I would give them excellent drainage, filtered shade, and the coolest spot in the garden. It's the sort of spot that exotic ferns like! Until you can transplant it, clip the oldest 1/4 leaves off, and give it Superthrive, and humic acid, to keep the roots alive.
