We have both dianthus and carnations as categories in our Flower Show? what is the difference?

Answers

The difference is one of definition. A Carnation is actually a dianthus, but as far as showing is concerned a Carnation is D. caryophyllus. These are tender and usually grown indoors under glass. Dianthus on the other hand are hardy and grown out doors.
