I have a sturdy physalis plant in a pot .It has many fruit pods onit..however they are beginning to fall before they are ripe. What am I doing wrong please ?

they need quite a bit of water so lack of it may be the cause of the drop.

When I grew some of these in a 6x4 greenhouse two plants took up the whole of one side. Sounds as though the pot is rather too small!
