How best to deal with rampant aquilegia in my garden? They spread everywhere and form solid clumps

Too much aquilegia? Really? ;) i always dead head mine to prevent them self-seeding.

Pull up the ones currently growing that you don't want and in future remove flower heads before they go to seed... they are extremely prolific

If they're large clumps or have been there a while, you'll need a garden fork to dig them out with, they have a pretty long tap root.

I just rip them out with my bare hands. It's fun. They come up easy enough. You have to cut off the flowers before seed pods develop.
