Is there a climber for the outside of our house which could be grow in a pot (we have no front garden) and not do any damage to the brickwork?

Why not fasten eye-hooks to the walls and then wires - or else a trellis? Then you could grow a non-vigorous climbing rose if the aspect is right, or clematis. It would be difficult to plant a larger climber that would be happy in a container.
