I have just prepared an area of my garden that I wish to use as planting area for shrubs. I note that there are a number of gardening web sites where I can purchase bare root shrubs from mid sept onwards. Can I purchase and plant such shrubs this side of the winter or is it better to wait until next spring.

Hi Lawnman and welcome to GoY you can plant in both September and October right into November if the weather is mild.
