Thanx so much for replying so quickly! I bought two this summer - put one in pot on patio and just used normal compost with a mix of JI2. Plat suffered with the sun and does not look very well at all. Should I repot in ericaceous soil immediately? Have also put it in the shade now watching it daily. Also put other in shade in soil in garden but it dropped all its leaves - maybe gave it too much water as it has been so dry here. Could you help with advice?

They need dappled shade and a sheltered position away from cold winds, Rose. I think you'll have to repot the poorly one, as it's suffering - use ericaeous compost! The other one probably had a shock - so if it's dry weather, water it once a week and it may well grow new leaves next spring.
Good luck with them.

In general, they prefer neutral to slightly acid soil, well-drained, as they don't appreciate wet feet. In a pot, it's best to use ericaceous compost.
