Do you mean Pachira aquatica, Tw111? In the ground--likely only in tropical climates--the roots will grow about 1-2 feet deep, depending on the soil type, and about 2-3 times the width of the crown, possibly much further with the finest feeder roots. Eventually, it will develop buttress roots, and is likely to damage any pavement or structures within 30 feet of the trunk.
In containers, it tolerates crowding, with regular pruning, and can eventually become an attractive bonsai, in spite of its relatively coarse foliage.
