A large butternut squash I have grown has no seeds in it. Is this usual?

its not unusual but if you wanted to save seed for next year that is a pain. was it an all female hybrid variety? some of our cucumbers don't have seed in them either.

I'd love to know how you managed to get one at all. This is my second year of trying and is a total failure like last year's effort.

Very strange, to me! Just out of curiosity, did it have a seed cavity, but no seeds, or was it solid?
