yes I agree it is a tibouchina. they are not hardy for us in the UK and are grown as annuals.

It's a Dwarf Princess Flower (Tibouchina urvilleana 'Jules'). It's a subtropical plant, though, only hardy down to 20º F. It would need to spend the winter in a heated greenhouse where you are, Adam.
