It should be fine without any canes etc unless its in a windy spot and the leaves may act as sales and catch the wind , normally they dont need staking but with you just transplanting now (which is late) it may need help

If its one of the large flowered Canna varieties, they're not hardy, they're a perennial bulb, so need to be brought into shelter for the winter. The leaves will die back as autumn progresses.
