I have lived in my house for 20years
there is a school playing field behind me.
There is a fox, I have only seen it twice in the twenty years.
In the last couple of nights something has been digging up my flower beds, making holes approx. 12 inches deep, there are quite a few of these, and on the lawn the holes have not gone deep , but have taken the turf up in about 2footlong strips.
In one hole in the soil it is filled up with a very big poo.
I was wondering if anyone had any idea what this might be, and how to stop it?

Sounds like badgers. They dig latrines like that. Foxes usually leave their droppings in prominent places as territory markers.
