I have an evergreen cotoneaster hedge that has grown at an angle of about 20 degrees from the vertical because it grew against a conifer hedge. I've now removed the conifer hadge and would like to get the cotoneaster hedge to grow upright. It's about 5 feet tall at at present, should I cut it back to within inches of the ground or is there a less brutal way of getting it to grow upright?
