I am planting a wooden apple crate. It has a black plastic liner but do I need to make drainage holes in the plastic before planting it up??? Many thanks.

Hi Guest yes make hole in the bottom for drainage otherwise you'll have smelly wet compost and add a layer of pea gravel in the bottom too. Remember to raise it up of the ground before you fill and plant to try to prevent ants getting in to build nests.
