try and cover with some chicken wire the bulbs will grow through but should stop the squirrels getting them , keeping in the shed until they show signs of growth would work as well

Hi Anne and welcome to GoY, so long as there is plenty of light in your shed then should work.

I usually put chicken wire in the top of the pot and then cover with an inch of compost. they soon learn there is no space to dig.
