earwigs

my friend has roses growing in her back garden under a tree she keeps getting earwigs inside the rose buds before they open,any suggestions how to stop this happening,do you think its because of the tree..cheers

Don't forget to empty it out in the morning - at a distance from the roses!

In a magazine I once read about someone putting a 4"plant pot on a garden cane and stuffing it with straw near by the affected plant. I believe this works.
