Agree, sounds like its too large, although its more dependent on how long its been planted - if its more than 2/3 years, and the surrounding shrubs have been there that long or more, the roots will all be intermingled anyway, so no, you can't move it. If its an Acer that gets very tall, treelike, such as Acer griseum, rather than a palmatum, lower growing variety, eventually it'll get taller than the surrounding shrubbery hopefully.

Yes, you can transplant it & 7 feet isn't very tall for an acer. Mine was about that size at installation, now it's at least 30 feet. You'll need specialized equipment or lots of manpower, but ultimately yes it can be done. Here is a video demonstration.

Of course you can transplant a 7 foot Acer. It also worked for my Linden Tree. It's at least 10 feet. Check out my blog.

If you tried you could seriously damage the roots of the other two shrubs and you could end up losing or at least damaging them all.

They may all have to come up. Then try to separate and replant.

I just noticed the name at the bottom of your post - if it really is Acer buergeranium, it should grow upwards out of trouble anway, it gets between 7 and 12 metres.

certainly sounds much too large to move, can you move the two otter shrubs Germany? If you can't I'm not sure what the solution is!
