is this a maple leaf? if so it is the biggest leaf i have ever seen? measures12 by 12. found it outside a local pub

oh yea a Norway , i forgot about them, most here are the hard and soft maples and the leaves are so much smaller, thanks!

Yep that's a maple. They tend to be palmate in shape - like a hand. Oak leaves are ovate in shape. Most likely from a very well established Norway Maple.
