I think that it is Graptophyllum pictum. I had no idea either, but it looked like a member of the Acanthus family, so I looked at images of Acanthaceae until I found it. Lucky! :)

Im afraid thats not it....... mine is like a young shrub with a hard stem thats hollow i get the feeling it would grow big but the markings themselves are very similar to your plant thats for sure

Well, Graptophyllum pictum is supposed to be a shrub to 3.5 m tall in the tropics.

On looking back at more pics on google i have to concede your right i guess i didnt look thoughly enough as the first pics were purple and it resembled a low growing spreading plant
