I have just bought 2 clematis. Sieboldii and Florida Flore Pleno. I just wanted to check before I planted them where is best to position them. I have 2 pergolas that are not sheltered by a wall or fence. I was going to put them there, or I have an east facing fence I could put them on. Thanks for any info.

I've found that the C. sieboldii is not a vigorous one and not reliably hardy, either! I think it might prefer some shelter from winds, Pdb.
I'm not familiar with the second one, I'm afraid, but if it's got 'florida' in its name, I'm guessing that it's related to the first.
I hope that someone else has experience with it.
Good luck!
