You shouldn't use on land where you will grow parsnips and carrots Guest as they need a light, sandy, fine tilth to grow well. If you use manure you will end up with short stumpy multi-rooted carrots and parsnips. Any other root veg is happy with manure. Though it needs to be well rotted for at least a year before it is dug in.
