I have two salvia amistad which I've just looked up and found that they are a tender perennial. We've had two snowfalls this winter so I'm concerned about them. Not yet showing any sign of growth yet. Does anyone else have these and have they started growing yet?

If you're near the coast, they might make it, but its unlucky we had colder than usual late winter weather this year - you might have lost them, its a wait and see I'm afraid. Probably a bit early for them to be showing signs of life yet if they are still live anyway, given recent temperatures

We actually had snow here in NY for the past few days. My salvia seedlings are growing inside and looking really good. I'd suggest you do same. Start some new seedlings to be planted out later next month.

I took three cuttings of mine last autumn and two are still alive on the kitchen windowsill.

Thankyou all. I might sow some seeds just in case they are gone and this time I'll take cuttings. This winter might be a taste of things to come but I hope not. Snow doesn't usually happen here.

How do I say thanks?
