how do I get rid of raspberry canes which are coming up all over my lawn from a patch at the bottom of the garden which has been cut down several times

Answers

Unless you remove the raspberry plants completely so new suckers are formed, the only alternative is to regularly mow down the suckers. They will not persist if repeatedly mown. The only other way would be to dig a trench around the edge of the lawn, removing any suckers, and then put in a metal or plastic barrier. Surely it's easier just to keep mowing.
