My pots and planters are all covered in a shiny green unwanted growth. I thought it was called something like lug wort. Little round clusters fleshy leaves. Help please.

That's what I would suggest too. a primitive, shallow rooted plant. I usually knock the plant out of the pot and peel the top layer back. I then add fresh soil to the top of the pot.

It sounds like liverwort, Lindy. It's harmless, unless it gets thick enough to make water penetration difficult. It's easily peeled away with a spoon.
