How to get rid of moss and clover on a lawn

There is fescue that will grow in shade. However, you'll be tasked with keeping a lawn in very dense shade. You may chose to do something different with that area of you garden (where the moss was growing), such as: a raised bed of shade loving herbaceous perennials or a paved patio area with sitting area or a BBQ if you like outdoor cooking.

if there is a lot of moss spike your lawn to improve drainage. traditionally you also brush in sharp sand to help drainage too.

You're a bit stuck with the clover, the only product that killed that efficiently was withdrawn years ago because it was carcinogenic in humans. Weed and fertilizer treatments are useful though, but I'd recommend a lawn food with mosskiller, rather than lawn weed, feed and mosskiller treatments, so use what used to be called Verdone 2 (a liquid, needs mixing in a can) to treat the weeds - now sold as Weedol lawn weedkiller.

If the environmental conditions are favorable for moss, you'll be fighting it 'til the end of time. Why do that?

Oh sorry, I just realised what I said - 'weed and fertilizer treatments are useful though'; what I meant to say was mosskiller and fertilizer treatments are useful, with a separate weedkiller as mentioned. Certainly, if your lawn is shady most of the time, then moss will be a permanent issue, but if it gets sun, after a wet British winter, especially if your lawn maintenance routine is non existent, then moss is inevitable by spring, but can be dealt with.

welcome to GoY Annyloo
There are lawn products designed to feed and weed the lawn, killing the moss and clover. you will have to rake the dead moss out though.
