Good Afternoon....I would like some advice on my 3 year old Tamarix...Previous years it has seemed OK but this year the "Flowers" were very pale and not as flowery as they should be. Now it seems to have turned brown altho not by any means dead...I don't recall it doing this other years. Is something amiss can I help the shrub in any way. Its in full sun with good drainage. Please help as I love it so much.

Hi, although Tamarix is fully hardy, they need different conditions, depending on whether you're near the coast, or inland, if you're in an inland location, they need to be protected from cold drying winds, although they're resistant to strong winds if you're in a coastal area, also in a coastal area, they grow in a light sandy soil, but inland they need a moister soil, so it may have been affected by the ''beast from the east'', Derek.
