thankyou Doctorbob1
Is sealglaze tape the only name of this product or is there a trade name? I can't seem to find it or any refrence to it on any gardening sites, is there perhaps an
alternative or something similar

Yes Bamboo, this was on an earlier question. You may be able to buy sealglaze tape from good DIY shops or garden centres, if not try using Arbrex seal and heal which you paint on. With serious cracking you need to wrap them round with an ordinary 3 inch bandage, take it off in the spring.

Yes, I know, Docbob, I answered the earlier question too, but that question referred to splits in the fruits, not splits in the tree or branches - which is why I've asked the question above. These treatments will do nothing for Fruit Split, will they

This was on an earlier question answered by Nicky08.

Not from Blortwick it wasn't - I checked via their profile to make sure I hadn't misunderstood the original question, and there's no other pear question listed other than on fruit split. Not that it matters, unless Blortwick thinks he can use this method to fix the fruit, lol!

Ah, right. I can never find that Sealglaze stuff either, last time I just used a roll of elastoplast over the top.
