I have purchased a GYPSOPHILA plant and would like advice on how to care for it /the best position for it,also could I grow it in a container?

Depends which variety of Gypsophilia you've bought - some are small alpines and others are tall, summer flowering ones - some are annual, some perennial. The one that's most commonly known is Gypsophilia paniculata, which gets quite tall and flowers in summer...so maybe that's what you bought?
