I would say small to medium, once mature they would be classed as say medium sized, but with carefully pruning here and there over the years you can keep it smaller in size, they look fantastic if you plant a deep purple lilac nearby as they flower virtually the same time and the effect can be wonderfull please be aware though the seeds are very poisonous.
