I have noticed that some Lilies remain dormant some years. Is this a known issue, and what causes it? Today I accidentally cut into a pristine lily bulb while planting a shrub. No growth on it, but no rot either. Last year I had no show of my Lily ‘Pink Flavour’ bit this year two of them grew. Baffling!

mine do this too, it seems to be the pure species ones that do this. L.pardalinum has done this for me in the past and when looking at the bulb it is pink firm and healthy and flowered next year.
