It's been a while since contacting folk but I'm back now with a question.... why do my clematis plants grow up happily enough and then get a botritis or something that makes them look quite sick and poor flowering.

often it is down to lack of airflow and the moist humid conditions develop that favour fungal infection. but some species are more susceptible to mildew etc than others.

Need more info please - which variety of clematis, and what are the growing conditions (in pots, in the ground, in sun, in shade and so on) Photo or two might help as well.
