This white flowering plant is about 18" tall and has grown well despite the hot and dry weather. I can't find this in any of my gardening books; can anyone tell me it's name please?

Thank you so much Hywel and Seaburngirl; on checking it certainly is Malva moschata alba, Musk Mallow - White Perfection. It has been in the garden for a few years but only ever had two stalks. Just happens that it is growing in the correct conditions but now I know what it is I can give it better care. At the moment it looks like there will be a lot of seed pods and I hope to be able to harvest and grow them.
