My astilbe leaves are all gone crisps with the sun should I cut them down or will they recover by next year I don't usually do anything to them just leave them die back and I like the stems in the Autumn as display but at the moment the look a bit sad

Its a plant that likes moisture 100% of the time , so carry on watering ... trim off the dead bits
