could be an ornamental chilli but I wouldn't risk eating them just in case they are not safely edible.

I don't know any chillies that grow in bunches like that & they normally have glossyish leaves when mature.
Also the flowers with that protruding, yellow centre are not usual with chillies. I'd have to agree that it's a nightshade, if the fruit become dark purple it's probably black nightshade (solanum nigrum). If you were sold it as a chilli you should seek legal advice! đŸ˜„
