Cobnuts
All our cobnuts have 'soft' kernels. The wild hazel nuts from the hedge have proper 'hard' kernels. Is it normal for Cobnuts to be soft like that or are ours wrong? Both bushes produce the same type by the way.

That is what everyone says, but if we leave them any longer the kernels just dry up in the shell. They are picked at the same time as the wild ones down the road, when the nut comes away from the leafy part easily.

Could it be that yours are slightly different and ripen a bit later?
