I recently bought a replacement fuschia for one that unexpectantly died. It is only small. Will it be O.K outside, or should I overwinter it indoors?
Thanks in advance.

Do you have a greenhouse? I am keeping my new plants in the greenhouse this year.
Best wishes

No greenhouse, my garden is literally a small plot of land, plus couldn't afford one even if I had the room.

as it is small i wouldnt leave it outside as the pot contents will freeze. unless you plant it out then it will be ok.

It is in a hanging basket.

Hi Alextb I would pot it up for the winter. Next year give a nice sized pot to live in. I suggest you huddle your pots together in a sheltered spot and wrap them in 3 or 4 layers of fleece, including the pots. I did this with perlargoniums and two tender fuschias and they survived last winter. I know people put fuchsias in hanging baskets, but everything needs to be renewed each year if you do. In a pot you just need to refresh the top soil and watch out for vine weevil(provera drench). Or take cuttings and keep them in small pots over winter.
