a light pruning is fine to tidy up any stragglers. The leaves are doing what they should in Autumn so I dont think you have a problem. My lonicera was severely infested with blackfly this summer, I simply put a jet of water onto them to wash off as I dont use chemicals, no ill effects there-after. Regards cutting it down to ground level, that would be a shame if it has reached the height & spread you want & it is healthy. Having said that I am making reference to the English climate. Hope Hurricane Earl doesnt uproot your plants ! My daughter & family live just below you so hope everyone stays safe.
