Can any one ID this plant for me please when I bought it some years back the picture showed a pink spikey flower but this flower has come out green first time of flowering

Maybe a Ginkgo?

Thank you Darren Do Ginkos flower I have a Ginko tree but it's never flowered.

That's not a flower, it's a new leaf. The foliage looks like a Columbine (Aquilegia) or Meadow Rue (Thalictrum).

Ahrr right thank you Tugbretil I ve just checked out Meadow Rue Black Stocking yes that was the picture that was on the packet when I bought it thank you for solving what it is.

Hi 3d, my Thalictrum look like this at the moment and I mistakenly weeded one out thinking it was grr.
mine flower late May early June.

Oh no Seaburngirl that's such a shame I would of probably done the same but now I am glad I had it put in a pot knowing what happened to one of yours. Thank you so much for the flowering time that is good to know when to watch out for the flower forming.
