We went for a walk in Nutwood in Derby & saw this flower. I'm certain it is not a natural wild flower. I took the picture with my 'phone, so quality is not too great. This picture does not give a true colour, it was Scarlet

Wish I could see a leaf to be honest. But it really does look a lot like Corncockle, Agrostemma githago.

Heard of that but not seen it.

Only ever seen it once when some people down the road grew it from bought seed.

I was thinking that it looked like Scarlet Flax (Linum grandiflorum). We grow a lot as wildflowers here.

Ah, sorry about not getting the leaf. We did see a White one as well (same species?), but it looked too far gone to take a picture. I will not be going there until next year. It was our annual trip to Derby for the concert at Darley Park. (Must take a better camera next time)
I have just had a look (Wikipedia) for the three suggested possibilities & it looks like Scarlet Flax (Linum grandiflorum)
Thank you for the replies.
