Hi can anyone advise me on what the best weedkiller is to kill hedge roots the hedge is brown and brittle and someone has cut some of it down but left the roots

And if you want to replant the hedge the roots will have to come out anyway.

If the hedge is brown and brittle then there is a good chance that the roots are also dead so best to dig them out manually. After all if you use a tree and stump killer then you will still need to dig out the old roots.
